If an applicant submits an application but does not include valid documentation of their language skills in either English or French, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will reject the application. On the IRCC website, you may get more details about the language requirements for possible Canadian citizenship applicants.
02
Candidates serving or previously serving in the Canadian Armed Forces are eligible for a smooth citizenship application procedure. Candidates for Canadian citizenship can use the Residence Calculator to evaluate whether they have lived in the country long enough to qualify as Permanent Residents.
03
Candidates who last visited Canada for a long enough period of time can use the Residence Calculator to get an idea of when they'll be qualified to apply. Applicants who have one parent who is a Canadian citizen or both parents as Canadian citizens (depending on where they were born) occasionally do so without being aware of it.
04
People who fit into this category can apply for proof of citizenship to skip the first stage of the Canadian Citizenship Program application procedure. Please note that candidates who have been imprisoned, placed on probation or parole, found guilty of an indictable offence, or are presently serving time cannot become Canadian citizens.
